Girls Night Out...St. Kitts Style!

Beth arranged a girls night out this past week and one might wonder just what do 5 non-drinking mom's do on an island at night. Well....we started out with dinner that took an hour to get. We think they must have had to grow the potatoes for the french fries.

Beth convinced us all to go get in the ocean. Lexy and I fell victim of the moon jellies and got some nice little stings. Beth wanted to go boogie boarding, but we talked her out of that one. Jaimie, I think was just in shock at how silly we mom's were. Tracy wasn't to sure about us crazies jumping and laughing in the waves. Thanks Tracy though for taking the pictures.
We did hang out at the beach bar though...tried to get a drink but they were all out of fresh water, so we settled for some yummy pool water! DON'T worry we didn't really drink it.
However, most of the night was spent with our heads under the water. We depleted the memory in my camera and then called Adrian for his camera to continue the fun. However, I don't have those pictures and Lexy might come back to St. Kitts and hurt me if I put those on this blog!
It really was a fun night. I'm pretty sure we acted like we were 17 again and anyone who walked by probably thought we were crazy!

What do you mean there was no gas shortage?

The newspapers reported there was plenty of gas and it wasn't a problem, but you can't convince Jaimie and I of that. We went to 2 different gas stations of Friday only to be told they had no gas. We drove to another to find the line backed up about a 1/2 mile and a 40 min. wait to get to the pump. So we went to another one that wasn't on the beaten path and waited for about 10 minutes. Notice the line in front and behind the car.
After filling Jaimie's car we zoomed home to change car's and took mine to get a full tank. Thank goodness they didn't run out before we got there.
So you tell me...was it a gas shortage or what? I mean we can't blame it on IKE...that was 2000 miles away!!!

Monday night at the Benjamin's

I'm not sure if we have lucked out and been invited to join the elite FHE club or what...but we sure have enjoyed getting out of the house every Monday night to go enjoy the company of our great friends here in St. Kitts. So, to those of you that have included us...THANK YOU!!

This week we all packed into the Benjamin's house, kids had to sit on the floor...notice the big kid in the middle
We had a lesson on the plan of salvation and tested our brains... who knows it better the parents or adults? Let's just say Treviscia has it down pat!
Then the fun and games began. We had to make letters to unscramble the phrase. To all those that know how Shaveti is with her front door being open, notice it's WIDE open! Don't worry Shaveti, the guys were blocking the view from the road, so no one could see in. :)
Thank you again to the elite members who decided to invite us too! Morgan and I really enjoy getting out and letting Chad study in quiet.

Extended Family

My lifelong friend, (literally I have known her since the day she was born), Brooke has been on my mind ALOT lately. So I decided to add a few pictures of her and her cute family.
She has been my woman of strength and courage these past few weeks. Since her telling me of the return of her breast cancer, this time to the liver. She's a fighter though and I'm convinced if anyone can conquer this not once but twice it's Brooke!
We were raised like cousins and want our children to carry on that relationship. We are looking forward to trips to Lake Powell with our children and any other adventures the raod leads us down. Afterall, the whole friendship started with our fathers MANY, MANY moons ago. We're talking back when our fathers where in college!

What are Jordan and Tori up to?

Well, it doesn't seem they are missing Mom, Dad and Morgan to much. They are enjoying spending time with Grandma and Grandpa!
This week they started school on Tuesday. Jordan's teacher is Mr. Rawley and so far she says she likes him. She told me the class took a science test of some kind and the class didn't do to well on it. Jordan didn't take the test because she was gone for the 1st week of school so the teacher didn't think it was fair. But Jordan's comment was...I knew all the answers Mom! Way to go Encyclopedia...I mean Jordan! Keep that brain going and open to learning!
Tori's teacher is Mrs. Brookes. Tori likes her but say's she is no Mrs. Prosser (that was her teacher her for 2 years). She is learning cursive and isn't to happy about that, but Tori never has been one who wanted to slow down enough to write anything! She has already made some new friends and had one over on Friday. She and Ashley are planning how to make it an every Friday playday.
They found their old, trusty friend Mr. Trampoline still in Grandma's back yard. They have to fight with Allie (the Irish Setter) for time on it. But have enjoyed getting to jump!


Tori, trying to show us how she really is good at gymnastics in hopes we will let her start going to class.

A few weekends ago they went to Zion National Park and enjoyed the beauty of the desert and red rocks. It's not the lush, tropical rain forests of the Caribbean but still a beautiful place. They thought they were going to FREEZE to death though! It was a whopping 65 degrees up there! YIKES!!! That's cold to us, now that our blood has become Caribbeanized :)


Mom, Dad and Morgan are happy to see they are having a good time and not missing us to much. Thank you Grandpa for sending us pictures so we can keep the rest of our friends in the loop too.

Semester Olympics

The 3rd tri annual semester olympics were held this weekend.

Morgan and I endured the sun, wind and rain for the past 4 days. But we were there when
6th semester was declared the overall winners of the olympics and therefore will be rewarded with a catamaran trip. (Now we just have to hope her and I will still be here when they have it)

FHE at the Wilkinson's

Last week for family home evening we were invited to the Wilkinson's. It was also a celebration of Z'Andre's birthday. After Bro. Thomas gave a "quick" lesson we played the Dollar Game.

some dance lessons, (does anyone know how to do the fox trot?)
