Jordan's Birthday Celebration

We started off the festivities on Wed., Jordan's actual birthday. She opened her gifts from the family. Jordan was so happy to see a giraffe blanket made by grandma. She was also happy to get an "I am a Child of God" locket from me and Chad.

Saturday we held a party with her friends. She wanted to incorporate giraffe's so we decided on a safari party. Look at these great adventurer's...they roasted hot dogs on the BBQ!

Grandpa was a little more adventurous and showed the younger kids how to roast on the brickets. Boy don't send us out to the savanna for a safari...LOL!
They did make safari hats though and put some leopard print ribbon and jewels on them. Even Rielly got in on the bling action.

Aunt Wendi spent hours making this giraffe cake for Jordan and it turned out absolutely beautiful! Jordan just wanted to look at it.
Can she blow out all 11 candles with one breath? I think she managed. We always knew she was full of hot air!
After cake it was time to open more presents. She is excited to go spend her gift cards to buy a new game for her DS and maybe some hair clips.

Happy Birthday Jordan!!

I can't believe 11 years have gone by since I was in a permanent position on our couch for 2 months. The ups and downs we faced before Jordan's arrival made her appearance into the world all that much greater. She has grown to be a wonderful helper and super sister to Tori and Morgan. We look forward to many more years of laughter with Jordan.
The song is one she picked and Chad has played/sang it for her since she was really small.

Some Locks of Love

Jordan did it, after months of wanting to get her hair cut it was finally long enough to donate. This past weekend we went and got it cut. Long, golden curls we hope will make one if not two little girls very happy.

She wasn't to sure about it once the first cuts were made
But now she really likes her short hair and the ability to fix it on her own without mom having to brush through it. Mom likes that idea too!
Now the curls are short, but definitely still there.

A weekend with cousins

This past weekend, we went to Las Vegas and spent the weekend with Matt, Wendi and their kids. It was after a few years of not seeing them to watch all the kids interact. Tori and Lexi just about picked up where they left off. They were best friends when we used to live down the street from them.
Everyone enjoyed Amelia and her cute little smile. She did get a little annoyed with Morgan wanting to be mommy all the time though.

Rielly wasn't to sure about all the girls taking over his space, but he and Morgan had a good time. And of course a cousin weekend wouldn't be complete without a visit from Morgan Montana! The older girls got her all dressed up then she made her debut appearance and gave us just a small sample of her work, I'm sure next time we will get a full performance.
P.S. Yes, Jordan and Tori were there. However, they seem to be getting to age of "we don't want our picture taken" So look carefully at the first picture and you will see Tori in the background, with Jordan to the left of her.

You were alive then?

A few days ago David was here going through old boxes. One of them contained books I read when in grade school. This book came out of the box and Jordan said "She wrote books when you were alive?" Does that mean I'm dead or just OLD? :)

David and Richelle Harris

Last Saturday, we were honored to join my brother and his new bride at the Las Vegas temple to celebrate their marriage. It was a day at one point I thought would never happen, but I'm so happy for David and the girls are thrilled that they have a new aunt. Welcome to the family Richelle!

They were both just glowing with happiness.
It was really great for my parents to sit in the temple with all 3 of their children. We only wish our spouses and Yvette's children could have been here with us. The cake smear was full of laughter. I have to admit, I haven't seen both parties be okay with getting a face full of cake.

Jordan caught the bouquet that was supposed to go to the girl standing next to her. I told the older girls in the line that I hoped for their sake the myth of the bouquet catching wasn't true; otherwise they all had a LONG wait!

Morgan also couldn't get enough of Uncle David. She really loves him and likes being chased!
The cutest train carriers around - these two followed Richelle all day holding up her gown. The girls were so excited to go and sit on the temple grounds and elated at getting to go inside the lobby area. We missed you Chad!

Happy Halloween! A few days late

I know I'm a few days late in sharing the Halloween fun, but it's been a busy weekend around here. In fact I can't even find the pumpkin carving pictures because they are on a different memory card.
Friday we almost missed out on getting to trick or treat due to the fact we were in Las Vegas meeting Richelle's family and having her bridal shower. It was fun to meet all her sisters. Then we made a dash for home and headed straight to the church for trunk or treat. However, almost all the trunks were empty, the girls got to play a few games though. We then got word that some of the housing areas in the ward were prepared for trick or treaters so we headed out to hit up a few houses.



Pumpkins were carved and set outside : Jordan's, Morgan's and Tori's. Jordan did hers on her own. I helped Tori with her and then Tori did Morgan's. It was fun to see them work together.
