Oklahoma or Bust!!

The cars are loaded and ready for the journey! As the sun sets we will be climbing into the car and beginning our next and final phase of school...it's off the Oklahoma we go.
Hopefully as a family we can survive the cramped quarters and all arrive in one piece :)

Happy Easter

The easter egg dying mess!! But we had very colorful and beautiful eggs when it was all done

The easter bunny found the house and left all the kids a basket full of goodies,
then they went outside and discovered the yard littered with brightly colored eggs full of candy!



Then the parents made the kids get all dressed up and show off their Sunday best!

Clark County Fair and Rodeo!

We saw all the animals the fair had to offer. The mother pig and her babies were our favorite!

We rode carnival rides and LOVED the roller coaster!Endured a long and boring ferris wheel ride, that Morgan so badly wanted to go on and then wasn't tall enough.
But we had a blast spinning in circles on every and any ride that would spin us around!While Amelia waited somewhat patiently in the stroller eating cotton candy!
We dressed up like cowgirls and went to the rodeo.

Posed for a picture with the flight for life helicopter, the pilots were great and waved as they grazed the rooftop of the house. Then every night we had a camp-out and crawled into our tent! (Which was in the front room)

County Fair Cook Off!

The Clark County Fair was this past weekend, so each of the girls wanted to make something and see if they could win a ribbon.
Here they are getting ready to take their goods for judging.







Tori made brownies with carmel drizzled on top.








Lexi made chocolate chip cookies.







Jordan made her famous no bake cookies.







Morgan didn't want to miss out on the fun so we found her an easy peanut butter candy recipe. Mom helped measure ingredients, but Morgan did the mixing.



All the girls won a blue ribbon for participation and a green ribbon for Class Act Award. Today, when we picked up the ribbons and judges critique it actually said on the back of Morgan's "Judge's Choice Award".

Science Project

For Jordan's science fair project she chose to show how a solar panel can power a DVD player.







She worked with grandpa to get the solar panel wired to the batteries, then the batteries connected to a car adapter.







She of course tested it outside in the sunshine and monitored how many volts of power were produced.







Then she tested it inside with a bright halogen light, since she couldn't present her project outside at school.

Red Riding Hood

This post is long overdue! The girls were in the Missoula Children's Theater production of Red Riding Hood a few weeks ago (this is where I was going when I got hit in car). I have been promising Chad clips of the parts the girls were in...so I'm finally getting around to it. Sorry Chad for the delay :)
The video isn't the greatest quality, but you can see how great they did with their parts. Tori didn't like that everyone laughed at her one liners throughout, but once we explained that it was supposed to be funny she did better.
They both did a great job and seemed to really have a fun week getting ready for the play. I hope for more opportunities for them and next time Morgan can get in on the fun also.
