Two weekends ago (I know slow at getting the word out, but I was waiting on pictures from a friends camera) we had a pig roast at the beach with a bunch of our friends. Chad and the guys planned for weeks to get the pig from the local market. Then they went and dug a big hole in the sand (have you ever tried to dig a hole in sand?) It was an all day process, they started at 4:30 AM! We all enjoyed the food, waves, fun and friends at the beach.

Car washing
Monday morning Chad and I were out working on the car. Chad decided to wash the car so I came in to get the bucket and rags but in the meantime the heavens opened up their flood gates and the rain came tumbling down. So I didn't go outside, Chad did and I thought he was just going to sit in the car with Tori and Morgan to wait it out. But when I opened the front door to see where he went I found this! I couldn't resist getting him on film. Jordan and I were laughing so hard!

Pelican Video
It's been more then a few days but seems we have been busy running this week. I had a few videos trying to capture the power of these birds diving into the water but it still doesn't do it justice. I will keep trying to capture it on video but for now enjoy this. My camera is REALLY good at capturing the sound of the wind and that's about it. I'm still working on that too.
Also, as a side note....everytime a pelican dives into the water it gives itself a concussion. Gee, what a way to have to get dinner.

Look how big Little Miss Jaida is getting!
After our fun at the beach we came home to a message asking us to go pick up our Jaida from the babysitter since her mom and dad were still busy at work. We were more then happy to oblige and get to spoil our daughter for a short time. Morgan always wants her picture taken with her 'sister' when she's around.
A lazy afternoon of snorkeling
It's the last week of school (for the girls, not Chad) so we pulled the girls out of school an hour early so we could head to the beach with our friends Heath and Jill. (Heath used to live in the same apt. complex when we first got to the island, but he transferred to Iowa last summer. He came to visit for a few weeks with Jill and us.) We all had fun snorkeling. The girls and I looked for shells of course and Chad went for the lobsters. The girls had better luck with their treasures then Chad and his one lobster. We also enjoyed watching the pelicans dive for dinner right off the shore. (Video to be posted tomorrow) The water was super warm and pretty clear so it was a nice day!

Field Trip Fridays
Trying to get everyone's head above water!
Stretch of beach on Atlantic side
Part of Jordan's class with Mrs. Kitsmiller, they
couldn't believe she would snorkel with them!
The past two weeks Morgan and I have been busy going on field trips with Jordan and Tori. Last week was Jordan's class, they went to the beach at the Marriott for the afternoon. Tori's class chose to go to South Friar's and go see the new sea lions that are being trained for a tourist attraction. We had fun going with both classes and look forward to summer camp starting next week! It sounds like there will be lots of fun things for everyone to do and hopefully we can hide out in the air conditioning once in a while.
Tori's class at play, Mrs. Prosser is by far the greatest teacher there is!

Making the switch
It was brought to my attention that our other blog site had some unacceptable photos on the sidebar when others where viewing it. So I have decided to switch to this blog format. It seems to only show what I post and nothing more. I hope my family will bear with me while changing and that they will be able to view this just as easily. I am setting it up so that my family members will recieve an email just like with the other site when I post to this.
Also, I have many friends with this blog format and it is alot funner to decorate and play with! So watch for some special effects and bear with me while I figure everything out!
